My Inspiration

You are my inspiration
You are the reason oppression is a wicked enemy
That wicked villain
Silently prowling, waiting for the next opportunity
To mangle and rip through the flesh
Of the descendants of Kunta Kinta
As if it that were the reality
But the real is
That the steel kids
of generations of real men
And diligent women
the forsaken…
the beaten but not broken
Complaining but not faking.
With a fortitude, considered legendary
Their voices pierce through the wavelengths
Of the multitudes of potential Huey Newtons
And Malcolms targeted with and X
Im encouraged…
Because we are Kings with Dreams
Of freedom
Ringing with the voices
Of the past saints
Who were treated as if they were ain’ts
I mean ants
we are ants
Working for the good of the colony
we do work…
local merchants
Overlooked giants with great purpose
The holy horn embracing his soapbox
Giving sacred spirit to nations
The invisible one you passed this morning
Suffering with the burden
Of deprivation…
still pushing for equality with the average joe
The student living in the abundance…
…of debt
Still climbing mountain tops
Searching for the hallowed jewels of wisdom
I salute you…
The forgotten legend
Posting on his pulpit inspired by liquid courage
Buts it still courage
an undermined virtue
I mean real courage
agape
Sacrificing for external existences
You make me believe that
If only one would be for all
Maybe all could be for one
Making differences just that
Nothing more
Not the stumbling block that tripped up populations
But the diversity that builds a great nation
That sweet sensation
Delicate vibrations
from communal relations
its inescapable…
Since all we have is each other
let’s just learn to live with one another
